Why should you consider bullet resistant doors in the first place?

The threat of a potential break-in, theft or even an assault on one’s well-being nowadays is greater than ever before. With more advanced tools and techniques being used by burglars, greater threats are emerging for both business and casual residents.

Installing a proper set of bullet proof steel doors may not have previously crossed your mind, however, there are a few key ways in which such a solution may benefit the peace of mind of residents in your area and ensure the protection of your goods.

A set of bullet proof steel doors may:

  • Help your business or household building maintain a higher value
  • Offer bespoke protection against any theft or attack attempt
  • Ensure top-level security of residents and goods
  • Reduce overall insurance costs for your building.

No matter how motivated a burglar might be, we guarantee that encountering a set of steel doors with a single enhanced door leaf or double leaf, ballistic door windows that are bullet proof as well locks that are drill proof, will discourage them.

Even if they might employ some heavy duty power tools to do the job, such an attack on your property would simply be impossible. Even if there was an attempt, the noise made will attract the attention of others.

What makes our bullet proof steel doors such a good option?

At Secure House, we understand perfectly well that our customers not only want uncompromised security when it comes to their front or internal doors, but also a sense of style and class from a design standpoint.

That is why every door solution in our range is developed with both a high level of security and an unmistakable sense of style and presence in mind. All of this is made with your knowledge, which means you can customise your set of doors to find the perfect look for your hom

What are the key things to consider when choosing an anti burglar door?

Since there are so many factors to consider, including the exact security measures that you will get with your doors, the furniture and the overall design, it’s fair to argue that choosing the right steel door option may not be as easy as one might think.

Whether you are buying a new set or improving the security of an older one, choosing the right team which can help you not only by consulting, but door installation and making sure everything is as it should is key in order to ensure the safety of goods and residents.

We think that the most important things to think about before buying a set of bullet resistant security doors are these:

  • Certification of the security doors and whether materials used for the doors are ballistic rated
  • The locking mechanisms used in the doors
  • Door furniture possibilities
  • Personalization options in terms of design according to your exact specifications.
  • In terms of bulletproofing, what level of protection is offered. Whether they can withstand handguns, rifles, machine guns, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about reinforced doors

bullet proof doors1. What are bulletproof doors, and how do they work?

Bulletproof doors are designed to resist gunfire and provide protection in high-risk environments. They consist of layers of materials, such as steel and ballistic glass, that absorb and disperse the energy from bullets, preventing them from penetrating the door.

2. What types of buildings or spaces commonly use bulletproof doors?

Bulletproof doors are often found in places like banks, government buildings, jewellery stores, police stations, and safe rooms in residential properties. They are used in locations where security and protection from potential threats are paramount.

3. Are bulletproof doors completely impenetrable?

While bulletproof doors are highly resistant to gunfire, they are not entirely impenetrable. The level of protection depends on the door’s rating, which is determined by the materials and design. Higher-rated doors offer greater resistance to bullets and other threats.

4. How do I choose the right bulletproof door for my needs?

Choosing the right bulletproof door involves considering factors such as the desired level of protection (ballistic rating), the type of building or space, budget, and aesthetic preferences. Consulting with a security expert can help you make an informed decision.

5. Are bulletproof doors aesthetically pleasing, or do they look bulky and unattractive?

Modern ballistic steel doors are designed with aesthetics in mind. Many options are available, including doors that resemble standard doors, allowing you to maintain the desired look while ensuring security.

6. Can I retrofit an existing door with bulletproof features?

Yes, it is possible to retrofit an existing door with bulletproof features. However, it is often more effective and aesthetically pleasing to install a purpose-built bulletproof door that meets your specific security requirements.

7. Do bulletproof doors provide protection against other threats, such as fire or forced entry?

Some bulletproof doors may also offer fire resistance, and many are also designed to resist forced entry. The level of protection against these threats may vary, so it’s essential to inquire about specific features when selecting a door.

8. Are bulletproof doors expensive?

The cost of bulletproof doors varies significantly depending on factors such as size, ballistic rating, materials, and additional features. While they can be more expensive than standard doors, the level of protection they provide justifies the investment in high-risk environments.

9. How often should bulletproof doors be inspected and maintained?

Bulletproof doors should be inspected regularly to ensure they remain in good condition. Maintenance intervals can vary but typically include checks for any damage or wear to the door, frames, hinges, and locks. Consult the manufacturer’s guidelines for specific recommendations.

10. Can bulletproof doors be customised to fit unique architectural requirements?

Yes, many manufacturers offer customisation options to ensure that bulletproof doors can seamlessly integrate into your building’s architectural design. A custom bulletproof door set can come in bespoke sizes, styles, and finishes.

The euro profile cylinder is protected with a drill resistant defender so it is impossible to drill into. The lock is security class 7 (the highest security class) by EN 12209 standard.

l3 386x555 - Bullet proof doors

Assa 565

This lock has a single bolt on the side of the door and a handle latch. The profile cylinder is Scandinavian and the interior of it has drill resistant pins which protects it from being drilled into.

We recommend you use two locks. A simple bolt with the handle latch (Assa 565 which gives security class 2 by EN 1627 standard) is operated with a thumbturn from inside and a key externally. A top lock (FIAM 672 or Mottura) bolts into the side, top and bottom of the door and gives security class 3 or 4 by EN 1627 standard depending on door type. You can easily secure your house while you’re at home with a simple 90 degree thumbturn on the inside of the front door. When you’re leaving your property you can use the second lock operated externally with a key to completely secure your front door.
